Liguria: a harsh territory will surprise you with its excellent white
Liguria coast does not seem very friendly to most agriculture, including vines. By the way about one hundred grape variety are cultivated in this small region sandwiched between Piedmont and the sea, bordered by France and Tuscany. Its proximity to Piedmont and Tuscany deeply influenced the winemaking process: in the western area wines are usually made of a single type of grape, as in the the Piedmont tradition, while in eastern part, wines are mostly produced by blending several grapes, like in Tuscany. Given the limited quantity of wine produced, only a few Liguria wines have achieved fame outside Italy; but we always find the way to excellent winemakers: we select amazing ester and western white and a sparkling you'll find very interesting. Check out our list.
