The stellar features of I Grop Colli Tortonesi Barbera Superiore DOC have been created by the Vigne Marina Coppi cellar of Piedmont region. The Barbera grapes are meticulously selected and manually collected into the boxes of 18 to 20 kg at the moment of optimum ripening. The fermentation takes place immediately after de-stemming and pressing of the fruits in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The must is macerated for about 20 days with frequent pumping over and punching processes. After initial racking and decantation, the liquor undergoes malolactic fermentation in traditional oak barrels with the capacity of 12 hectoliter. The wine is primarily aged in the barrels for about 18 months. It receives further maturity and better structure for a period of at least nine months, in the bottles, before being marketed.
