white wine umbria

Good whites and reds from Umbria taste lake tuscan wines

Umbria is the only region in the central and south Italy that doesn't overlook the sea. Its territory is mainly composed by hills and low mountains, with a peculiar soil composition. Its wine production is limited in quantity, but includes some of the most outstanding italian wines: the white Orvieto DOC (a really appreciated blend of four to five grapes, produced around the Orvieto city) in both dry and semi-sweet version and the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG a terrific and strong red wine (made with of at least 95% of local Sagrantino grape variety) that is as good as the near and most famous tuscan reds. Taste them and give us your opinion.
